Shimeji Adventure Devlog [16/07/2025] - Multiplayer and World 2


Heya! It's been a while. Shimeji Adventure v1.1 update is still in the works! A lot has been happening with the developments. Creating assets such as enemies, World 2 content, and other elements. This blog will briefly highlight what I've been up to since then. So here we go:


1. Local Multiplayer!

4-player Multiplayer in World 1 Level 2.
Yes. You heard that right! As I stated before, Multiplayer is on its way. In here, you can play up to 4 players.

Players can also customise their controls and settings to suit their preferences. That means the game now has proper controller support.

Controls Settings

Keep in mind that Online Multiplayer is not planned for this game (at least not due to the existence of mods and similar). If you want to play this with your friends online, you may need to use software like Parsec to facilitate the gameplay. However, any mods that the host has will be available for others when screen sharing. So keep in mind that. 

2. World 2 Progress!

Here we are! World 2 will take place on the Internet itself. With the design, I incorporated technological and late 90s-2000s style elements for this World's design. Much like World 1, World 2 also features its own unique Windows design. But this time, taking inspiration from Windows 98, unlike World 1, which took inspiration from both Windows XP and Windows 7.

The enemies introduced in World 2's sprites and animations are also done. It's currently unknown what they do, but you'll find out soon in another blog as they get coded into the game. So right now, here they are from top to bottom: Sticknode, Flownet, and Userbeam:
